5 high tech tips to help you have a beautiful summer

Is your skin ready for summer? Top technologies used by celebrities to be summer ready!
Hair reduction

If shaving your legs or waxing has become a chore, there are better ways of dealing with your unwanted body hair. IPL (intense pulse light) treatment gives you permanent hair reduction so you won’t have to think about it this summer and for even longer after that. IPL works by picking up the melanin within the hair and travelling down the hair shaft into the follicle. It then destroys the follicle and without that the hair doesn’t grow. IPL works differently from laser treatment as it uses a larger treatment head and multiple light wave lengths. Results will vary and you’ll need a course of treatments to see results.

Blast your fat

If you want a high tech way to get beach body ready you’re spoilt for choice. #Lipocavitation will implode your fat cells using ultrasound whilst the #Lipolaser creates a chemical reaction that will make your fat cells porous so the fat leaks out. Both treatments cause the fat to split into three elements – free fatty acid, glycerol (sugar) and water. The water will be absorbed but you need to eat sensibly, drink plenty of water and exercise to make sure that the glycerol and fat are eliminated rather than reabsorbed.
It releases toxins so you may feel tired but otherwise there is no pain and no downtime.

Minimise your cellulite

Cellulite is hormonal which means women are more prone to it – lucky us! It can be triggered by hormonal changes, such as menopause or after pregnancy. That dimpled skin is caused by fat cells resting in crooked collagen. Weight gain can exacerbate it but skinny people can still get it – we’ve even seen body builders with cellulite! We use lipocavitation to reduce your fat cells and radiofrequency treatment to grow and strengthen collagen fibres. It’s a temporary solution but you can maintain it. Its pain free and you’ll need a course of treatments to get the best results.

Summer and acne
If you suffer from acne, the bad news is that summer will exacerbate it. Warmer weather makes your sebaceous glands release more oil. It’s important to gently exfoliate your skin and keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Traditional exfoliating scrubs and brushes can make things worse by spreading the bacteria around. We can help you with professional products that gently exfoliate your skin using fruit acids. It’s also important to use non-comedogenic products that won’t clog your pores and give the bacteria a breeding ground for spots.

Wear sunscreen
Always, always, always wear sunscreen. If we could only give you one piece of anti-ageing advice this would be it. If you had acne as a teenager use a non-comedogenic sunscreen as the sun can make you more prone to outbreaks, as it increases the amount of oil in your pores. Your skin is also more fragile when you have a breakout which can make sun damage worse.
The sun can cause damage to your skin which you might not see for years. It destroys collagen, especially once you’re over 30. You can also get sun damage pigmentation which lurks under the surface. So please, please – wear sunscreen.
